Tickets are purchased through Alcatraz cruises in advance by Moshe, our instructor.
We arrived early at Pier 33 to catch the ferry.

 

The boat takes you around the entirety of the island before docking, an added bonus to the night tour-

A night on Alcatraz....as soon as we arrive at the island, we were greeted by a park ranger. Then we basically had the island to ourselves. We explored the jail cell, the hospital wing, x ray room, dentist chair, medical tools, combined with chipped paint and natural ambiance of the night... spooky for sure.
