During Gold Rush, Lands End was a getaway for San Franciscans. This is perhaps the most popular hike in the city with long, uninterrupted views of San Francisco Bay. A detour to Mile Rock Beach takes you to a stone labyrinth designed by local artist Eduardo Aguilera.
2. Ocean Beach
A flat 3.5mile long beach popular with surfers and sunbathers (when the weather is nice). The hike ends at the Cliff House.
3. Fort Funston/Lake Merced
Two things, dogs and dunes. This sandy spot, situated in San Francisco's southwest corner, is well loved by dogs and humans alike. It's often referred as "dog paradise". Once you go, you'll soon see why.
4. Batteries to Bluffs
While the trail is short, it has 470 steps or so steps along its way. But the views of San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge is breathtaking
5. Embarcadero waterfront
6. Pier 39
7. Golden Gate Bridge
8. Mount Sutro
