How to forest bath

 Shinrin-Yoku

is taking in a forest atmosphere during a leisure walk.

It is a public health practice developed in Japan in the 1980s and now is proven to reduce stress hormone (cortisol), lower blood pressure, and increase immune system

Here is how to do it:

Take time to slow down and unwind in nature

1) Leave behind distractions (ie don't look at your phone during the walk, take pictures is allowed), be present

2) Just wander and feel the sensation below you

3) Pause to look around you; look up and close up leaves (details)

4) Find a bench and notice your surroundings

5) If you're with a friend or family, resist talking until the end.
